My Care Matters Health Services

About Us

We are My Care Matters Health Services, a home care agency offering professional support to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with special needs throughout Coquitlam. Our services range from personal care and companionship to dementia care, palliative support, medication management, post-hospital recovery, and around-the-clock overnight care. With 30 years of combined experience in nursing and in-home care, our team is available every hour of every day. We also provide multilingual care services so your loved one can communicate with their caregiver in the language they’re most comfortable speaking.

What Drives Us

Bringing a caregiver into your home is a big step, and most families come to that decision after a lot of thought. You want to feel confident about who is spending time with your loved one, what a typical care day actually looks like, and whether someone will genuinely be there when something unexpected happens. We’ve structured everything we do around making those concerns easier to carry. Our caregivers take the time to understand each client as an individual; their schedule, their preferences, and the little things that make them feel settled and cared for. We come in, we learn, and we build the care plan around the person in front of us. Whether your family is in Westwood Plateau, Austin Heights, Maillardville, or Burke Mountain, we’re reachable any time.

What We Believe

Start with the person: We don’t apply a standard care plan and hope it fits. We take the time to understand your loved one’s specific situation before we recommend anything.

Consistent presence builds trust: The best caregiving relationships develop over time. We match caregivers carefully and keep that relationship consistent so your loved one knows who to expect and feels at ease.

Open communication with families: You’ll always know how things are going. We follow up regularly and reach out promptly if anything changes. Learn more about our care team here.

Verified before they walk in: Every caregiver is screened, reference-checked, and criminal record-checked before their first visit with your loved one. They also receive ongoing training to keep care quality consistent over time.

Home Care in Coquitlam

Coquitlam is a large and diverse city with established neighbourhoods like Maillardville and Ranch Park alongside newer communities on Burke Mountain and Westwood Plateau. Seniors across the city have very different living situations; some in family homes where they’ve been for decades, others in condos near Town Centre or Harbour Chines who want to maintain their independence with a little extra support. We work with all of them. Coquitlam’s multicultural makeup also means language plays a real role in how comfortable care feels day to day. Our multilingual services are there to make sure your loved one isn’t navigating their care in a language that doesn’t feel natural to them.

What Families Usually Come to Us With

Most families in Coquitlam reach out to us when something has shifted in their loved one’s situation. A parent has come home from Eagle Ridge Hospital and isn’t ready to manage alone yet. A senior in Austin Heights or Cape Horn has been independent for years but is finding that daily tasks are taking more out of them than they used to. Or a family member coordinating care from another city needs someone local and reliable to be there consistently. We also hear from families who are supporting a loved one through dementia or the final stages of illness and need more help than they can realistically provide on their own. Whatever has brought you here, we start the same way; a free in-home assessment with no obligation attached. We come to you, we have a real conversation, and we build a care plan that reflects your loved one’s actual needs. If you’d like to read through what other families have asked us before getting started, our FAQ page is a good place to begin.
