Coquitlam’s farmers’ market community brings fresh, local food straight to your neighbourhood every week. We’ve got one of Metro Vancouver’s longest-running suburban markets plus nearby options that make farm-fresh shopping part of your regular routine. From Sunday morning strolls at Dogwood Pavilion to midweek market runs, our city connects you directly with local growers who know their stuff.

Sunday Markets that start your week right

The Coquitlam Farmers Market runs Sundays, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, from May to October at Dogwood Pavilion (1655 Winslow Ave). Launched in 1996, it’s the longest-running suburban farmers’ market in the Lower Mainland, which means locals have been building relationships with growers here for nearly three decades.

Upwards of 70 food-first vendors participate in this weekly market, with rotating workshops and programming to engage the community.

We’re talking about a place where you’ll find fresh local produce, meats, artisan baked breads, treats, prepared foods and hot foods all in one spot.

What makes our market different

Each week, a wide variety of vendors gather to showcase products that are made, baked, grown, or raised in BC. This isn’t just about buying groceries – it’s about strengthening the bond between producers and consumers, maintaining human connections each week

The festival-like atmosphere includes buskers providing artistic talents, making your Sunday morning market run feel more like a community event than a chore. There’s even a POP Club for children aged 5-12, where kids learn about fruits, vegetables, and local food systems through fun activities all season long.

Year-Round Farm Fresh Shopping

Beyond seasonal markets, Langley Farm Market operates a location at 2168 Austin Ave in Coquitlam, open Monday to Sunday, 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. This gives you access to fresh local produce when the outdoor markets aren’t running.

Community Programs That Actually Matter

The markets offer membership benefits, community group participation, and regular events and workshops. They participate in the BC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program, making fresh local food accessible to more families in our community.

Volunteers are the heart of the organization, setting up and tearing down the market each week while providing assistance to vendors and visitors. This community-driven approach makes every market visit feel personal.

Making Market Shopping Work for You

The key to great market shopping is timing and knowing what you’re after. Get there early for the best selection – those perfect berries and seasonal vegetables move fast. Bring reusable bags, cash for smaller vendors, and don’t be afraid to ask growers about their products. They love talking about what they do.

The markets run from May through October, following the natural growing season. Summer brings peak variety, while spring and fall offer their own seasonal specialties.

Why Local Markets Matter

The Coquitlam Farmers Market started as a Community Economic Development project by Simon Fraser University students in 1997, with the goals of reconnecting local producers with suburban consumers and citizens with each other.

Nearly 30 years later, that mission continues every Sunday morning at Dogwood Pavilion.

Right when markets open for the best selection, Sunday’s Coquitlam market starts at 9 am, Wednesday’s Port Moody market at 3 pm, and Thursday’s Port Coquitlam market at 3 pm.

Outdoor markets run from May through October. Port Moody offers a winter indoor market on Sundays from 10 am to 2pm, November through April. Langley Farm Market on Austin Ave operates year-round.
